MICROTUBULES & THE SUPRA-BRAIN, The Argument Against Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Human Extinction
Presenter: GW Hardin
ABSTRACT
“Stephen Hawking Is Terrified of Artificial Intelligence” was the title of a recent Huffington Post feature (5/5/14). He was quoted as saying, “One can imagine such technology outsmarting financial markets, out-inventing human researchers, out-manipulating human leaders, and developing weapons we cannot even understand. Whereas the short-term impact of AI depends on who controls it, the long-term impact depends on whether it can be controlled at all.” The implication was that humanity has until 2029 before it faces potential extinction.
On the other hand, Stuart Hameroff, MD, and Roger Penrose, PhD, have recently brought forth mitigating information regarding microtubules-tiny molecular tubes that make up one layer of all cell walls and may be the seat of consciousness. They not only refute the premise that AI can outdo human intelligence, but that we as humans are far more than the sum of our parts. That point when coupled with the latest discoveries of psychoanalyst Martha Harrell, PhD, points to a Supra-Brain that operates beyond the human brain to such a degree as to shift the landscape of what we call reality. What scientists are missing in the arguments of human extinction is that it is not AI that will take a quantum leap in competition with humanity, but that humanity is already entering a quantum leap that makes intelligence itself obsolete. Our world is on the cusp of a giant Re-eVolution.
Join us in what promises to be a lively discussion as SSE weighs in for the debate of AI as science versus science fiction.
GW Hardin is not new to SSE, having spoken before over the past years. As a New York Times bestselling author, he has written or co-written eight books having to do with true stories about the extraordinary. Hardin specializes in the bringing together opposite worlds, using science and scientific research as a backdrop to his unexplainable stories. He is one of the foremost authorities on sacred geometry-paralleling quantum physics with meta-messages from non-ordinary sources (the unbelievable). As a lecturer, GW Hardin has presented talks at colleges and universities around the country and has given many keynote addresses at conferences. He has appeared numerous times on television and radio shows that have reached millions of people. The author received his degree in mathematics from the University of Washington.
