Climate change is complex. Predicting the future has been even more complex. This is in part due to the dynamics in the system. Feedback loops and tipping points create an even more complicated system of nonlinear dynamics.

A tipping point marks a condition when a relationship become irreversible. One of the ways that a tipping point is reached is through a feedback loop. An example of this is the tundra in the north catching fire last year. The fire released Carbon dioxide (CO2) and Methane, which warmed the artic and will create more fires. As this process activates a tipping point, it begins to accelerate and become nonlinear. When these processes interact with each other, the nonlinear aspects compound.

This presentation will focus on feedback loops that can lead to tipping points. I will be introducing a set of a feedback loops, their status and a prediction of when or if they could trigger a tipping point. From these tipping points, I will be able to give you an idea of what our world will look like.

I am a retired Senior Software Engineer and Physicist. I got interested in Climate Change when California caught fire a couple of years ago. Since then, I have researched climate models, researchers, and organizations. I have had to weed through the politics and misinformation.

After narrowing down the field, I found the work of Dr. Jim Massa, Dr. Zachary Labe, Dr. Guy McPherson, Dr. Beril Sirmacek and the following organizations: IPCC, NOAA. Woods Hole, Naval Postgraduate School, NASA and more. From these resources, I have pieced together a reasonable picture of our climate.
